Gas turbines used for power generation is not a
new concept; however, as the world has started the transition from fossil fuels
to more sustainable fuel sources, the mobility of the SPG power gen sets offers
some distinct advantages over larger fixed installation gas turbine
The term distributed power has taken hold with the expansion of wind and solar farms that produce power in remote locations and that intermittent power is then transferred to market through expensive transmission lines. Those intermittent power sources are often located in the same basins where oil and gas operations are flaring natural gas. Capturing this otherwise flared natural gas and using it to generate back up power and to recharge batteries not only eliminates gas flaring, but it produces clean, low emissions power. When pared with portable EV charging trailers, the SPG gen sets will allow reliable recharge points for EV charging trailers whether or not the wind is blowing or the sun shining.
Further, waste gas from waste water facilities and landfills also provide fully renewable fuel sources for our generators. Truly sustainable. Lastly, one of the largest costs associated with utilizing Hydrogen as a renewable fuel revolves around the transportation of hydrogen to the relevant market. The portable SPG gen set can easily “go to the source of the hydrogen” thus eliminating the high cost of transportation.
